This violin is made by Fiddlershopresident violin maker andteacher Peter White in 2019 and is based on theAntonio Stradivari ‘Messiah’template. This is Peter’s violin number 252 in order.
TheMessiah violin, one of the mostfamous violins in existence was made in 1716 by Antonio Stradivari of Cremona.The Messiah was bequeathed by the family of W.E. Hill to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford for preservation as “a yardstick for future violin makers to learn from.
This violin is craftedfrom the highest quality spruce and maple, and is constructed to perfection from the inside and out.
The back of the violin is crafted from two pieces of maple of excellent quality with a somewhat irregular flame of medium width, descending from the center joint to the edges. The varnish is light orange-brown and is replicating the look and feel of the original Stradivari violin.
This beautiful violin is further set up to perfection by Fiddlershop’s Master Luthier AndresMartinez Bilva.

Peter White started the study of professional violin making in 1980 with Jan Pawlikowski in Krakow, Poland. Up to this date he has made 252 violins, violas, cellos and mandolins. In 2019 he moved to Florida to join the Fiddlershop team. For 40 years, Peter has also been the professor of American literature and American studies at the University of New Mexico.
